   What is clinical research?cn anybdy tell me abt its job profile and growth prospects?paying 5lakhs as msc fees…is it worth giving or not??How to prepare for icri’s msc entrance test?

   Clinical Research is the basically the testing of drug/biologicals/ or medical device/s on human beings to verify the safety, effectiveness of the same in human beings.
   Job profile is varied depending upon basic graduation: CRA, Clinical Data management, Pharmacovigilance, medical writer, regulatory affair, and/or KPOs.
   Every professional post grad incurr a cost- be it MBA/MPHARM/MCA, thus Clinical research is no difference, if u proceed the course diligently it’s worth getting PGD in pharma management and Clinical research masters degree(Cranfield university, UK).
   Entrance test depends on ur basic graduation qualification, Be thru with ur grad subjects and brush up pharma industry knowledge.
   Decide ur aim of coming into it and ur priorities..Stay focussed!!

   So,It depends on one’s graduation course…I m a B.Sc.Zoology student…is this course good for zoology students… i dont evn hav basic knowledge of pharmacy..In other pg courses lik biotech,forensic nd all..they giv us a prescribed syllabus for entrance test preperation…does ICRI give a particular syllabus for entrance test?
   Is ICRI a right institute to do clinicals? i hv heard that its nt certified by ugc?i hv evn heard that watevr icri is saying in its advertisement lik students can earn rs50000-125000 is completely wrong…Actual salary a icri passout is getting is 14000-15000…

   C in india except from IIM and IITS and some top notch MBAs no one starts from 10 lakhs or so,,,and in pharma/medical world thats not possible at fresher level!! however once u get experience you start getting good salaries!!starting salary is in range of 13 to 25000 for qualification likes u!! ICRI runs on the same model as IIPM rns in delhi!!not recognised byUGC but succesfully offering courses!! sO NO FALSE claims!! As the salaries that are advertised are for international placements,,India is still in fancy at this stage and will grow further buddy!! so there’s no hype!! just stick to the basics! the exams will be from urzoology background!! no worries!!

   hi sorry for late reply was out for cuple of months!! now u all wil get very regular responses like befire!!! Regarding wat neha asked ,,u can read in earlier blogs abt the placement and fees!!! and it’ll be good opportunity to do pgd in CR here in ICRI. it’ll boost up ur chances to join CRO/Hospi as SUB or CO INVESTIGATOR ,,,

   hi panki bhai,
   well, being ur junior in both grad. & post grad, i just thought to fulfill my duties to ask u queries.. Well as u know i’m doing PGD in Clinical Data Management(1yr. part-time) from icri(delhi), i was having issues regarding my placement.

   1. can i start applying in companies now,after completing 6 months of the course?

   2. how shall i apply, coz kpo’s do not recruit directly.

   3. can i apply in ur company ? if yes, how can i apply?

   4. is it correct to state my current course in my resume ?

   5. i am getting offers from bpo’s as i did a stint for 6 months in a bpo. shall i continue there till completion of my course ? if yes, will it affect my goal to work in a kpo for CR ?

   i will be highly grateful to u if u cud help me out with this dillemma. waiting for ur reply.

    Hi Pankaj! I am currently doing B.Pharm and I am in my final year,the exams of which are supposed to b held in May 2009. After my degree i am planning to join icri delhi. Can u suggest me what kind of course will be good for me with respect to my B.Pharm degree and to which i will be eligible after my graduation?Please do tell about the placements and initial packages related with that course.please respond on my email id too whenever you see this .Thanks!

    sir, actually i had completed my b.pharm from jamia hamdard in 2008, and after that i wish to do m.pharm but unfortunately not qualified the GATE exam thats why i was not eligible to take admission in good colleges, but now i m currently persuing post graduate diploma in drug regulatory affairs from the same college. actually sir i want to do my masters, recently i heard about m.sc in clinical research after that i m totally confused which course i have to choose between m.pharm or M.sc in clinical research, so for that i want ur help, plz suggest me the right option and names of colleges for that option. plz reply as soon as possible.

    hi vrushali,,since u r bpharm graduate,,so preparing pharmacology well and other and brushing other subjects wil suffice for your entrance test for MSc in CR,,,the institutes which provide MSc 2 year course are ICRI and Jamia,,,,in delhi,,,,,ICRI has advantage of being pioneer and it offers two courses,,one from MGR University and separately one from prestigious Cranfield university, UK ,,(its one of the leading ones in CR ),,i recommend tht if u have lng term vision go for MSc from cranfield thru ICRI,,,to get regular replies pls register on ma site,,thnks

    i am a b.e biotech graduate with first class distinction. i wish to pursue my career in clinical research. i hv done all the RnD req , i am aware that neither of the current institutes are government recognized, i am ready to plunge in but m confused which institute to choose. the course fee structures are over 2 lakhs for a year! is it really worth coz these are not UGC recognized. if its worth then why m i getting mixed opinions. from where did u get ur clinical research degree? is ICRI hyped or really worth??? i am currently trying for hyd campus. plz help me! as time is running.
